Ridley Drama Group, as we know it today, was started in 2000 when current director, Christina McGovern, took over for 30-year veteran director and RHS teacher Sandy Stefanowicz.  Ridley's ITS Troupe #2103 began in 1973, and Ridley remains one of the only Delaware County high schools to support an active troupe.  When the "new" school was built, Mrs. McGovern transferred RDG to the new building and radically changed the focus of Ridley Drama Group to include not only excellent extracurricular productions, but curricular offerings, community outreach, theatre development/inclusion of our elementary and middle schools, increased technical theatre programs, and greater participation in the PA State Thespian conference, where both she and Technical Director, Amar Ahluwalia are governing board members.  Today, RDG boasts over 100 participating students in the program each year, where students learn valuable skills in performance, communication, marketing, graphic design, business management, and technical theater.  Our staff is comprised entirely of alumni, and many others have gone on to achieve great heights on and off the stage.  Currently, RDG is proud of its professional actors and playwrights, artistic directors, community theatre program founders, prop and costume designers, stage managers, Broadway producers, teachers, and community theatre artists, many of whom have come back to RDG to mentor our current students.
